​Standardization of Grafting in Bittergourd (Momordica charantia L.)

Background: Commercial cultivation of bitter gourd is affected by biotic stresses like mosaic disease, fusarium wilt and root-knot nematode as well abiotic stress drought. Grafting with resistant rootstocks can be a tool to control these problems. In vegetable production, grafting exploited commercially in many parts the world. The cultivated area grafted solanaceae cucubitaceae plants has increased tremendously recent years because advantages plants. use relatively innovation India scientific information on bittergourd meager. this context, identification suitable standardization techniques that do not have adverse effect yield fruit quality only lay foundation for further evaluation tolerance different but also enhance production especially sustainable systems. Methods: was carried out three methods such hole insertion grafting, one cotyledon cleft using growth regulators viz., alar CCC height order identify method, regulator its concentration. experiment done independently four cucurbitaceous sponge gourd, pumpkin, bottle var. Preethi scion. Height diameter before were recorded then each at 10 mgL-1 50 along distilled water sprayed prevent lodging root stocks methods. Days taken graft union percentage success evaluated after grafting. Result: Our study scion into utilizing two concentration exhibited significant difference among all experiments. This work utilized imparting resistance against selecting rootstocks.
